Beyond the "Flat" Canvas

I have always been a perfectionist, and to be honest, I became bored with the state of modern art. Everywhere I looked, I saw flat paintings that looked more like digital prints than original works. When you can’t differentiate between a hand-painted piece and a machine-made poster, the soul of the work is missing. I felt a deep need to bring back the physicality of art—the kind of work you can’t help but want to reach out and touch.

Designing for Your Brain (Neuro-Aesthetics)

My work is driven by a fascination with how beauty affects our mood and neurological response. I spend a significant amount of time researching Neuro-Aesthetics—the science of how our surroundings literally change our brain chemistry.

I believe art has a responsibility to make a person’s mood come alive. It should make you feel more positive, more optimistic, and uplifted the moment you walk into a room. Because of this, I intentionally avoid anything grotesque, cluttered, or unnecessarily mysterious. I want my compositions to be clean, neat, and aesthetically pleasing because a cluttered canvas leads to a cluttered mind.

My Journey: The Evolution of Texture

My journey started with a deep love for Minimalism. In the beginning, I worked exclusively with white-on-white compositions. I wanted to see how much emotion I could pull from a single color by using high tactility and floral-inspired textures. There is something so powerful about a monochromatic aesthetic; it forces you to focus on the light and the shadows created by the paint itself.

As I evolved, I slowly began to introduce color, but my philosophy remained the same:

• Pastels over dark colors: I prefer tones that breathe light into a space.

• Monochrome over multicolored: I find beauty in the sophisticated harmony of a single palette.

• Tactile over flat: If a painting doesn't have depth, it doesn't have a voice.

• Gorgeous over vulgar: I choose beauty and elegance over the chaotic or "cluttered abstract" styles that are so common today.

Every piece I create at Sahaara Art is a reflection of this path. It is art designed with a purpose: to be a clean, tactile, and beautiful anchor for your home that scientifically supports your well-being.

• Dimensions: Our capacity ranges from intimate works to monumental scales—including canvases up to 7' x 12' (the maximum limit for standard freight transport).

• Media: We utilize high-viscosity, heavy-body acrylics from the world’s leading archival paint manufacturers. These pigments are inherently lightfast, permanent, and do not require toxic varnishes or sealants, ensuring a safe and clean integration into any indoor environment.

• Durability: Our textures are engineered to be stable and permanent, designed to withstand the life of the space without cracking or degradation.

• Bespoke Framing: We handcraft our hardwood floater frames from solid Walnut, Maple, or Cherry. Each frame is finished in-house and can be custom stained to align with your project’s specific wood tones and interior finishes.
